- Hello, I'm trying to install AmiTCP 4.0b, PPP.device 1.45, and Control
- Panels 6, and I've encountered a strange problem:
-
- When I attempt to use SlipCall v4 or Control Panels 6 for the GUI front
- end, my system crashes in the same manner in either program. Could my MMU
- be to blame? I'm using the MMU on a CSA Derringer 030/33Mhz/4MB board.
- My system is a 2000 with WB 3.1.
-
- Description of crash: I can access the menu of Preferences items on
- Control Panels 6, but when I activate the Preferences item's window, it
- appears *very* slowly and with *no text* other than the window title and
- the top line of the menu. No gadgets. No input fields. Then the shit
- hits the fan and my system crashes (error #800000008 or something).
-
- I understand that the MMUmay be causing this. If I disable the MMU
- permanently, can anyone anticipate any negative effects (bad idea, maybe)?
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
